The mark of the tyrant – end of due process and rule of law

Of course this is nothing new.  It started long before even the illegal changes to election procedures in 2020 or the continued imprisonment of the January 6 protestors in 2021 (or 2022 with arrests of January 6 protestors who were not even there).  The Revolutionary Junta seized power by subverting and turning the legal process against itself and cemented it with bribery, lies and intimidation.  These Marxist Mafiosi have never made any bones about winning at all costs, and having now won they no longer feel the need to hide their naked abuse of power.

Even Alan Deshowitz, a thoroughgoing leftist, recognizes the problem.

This trend towards increasingly blatant threats of violence will continue because they are losing and they know it.  They thought that if they simply managed the 2020 election to their preferred outcome and used the power of propaganda to silence any dissent the nation would have quietly accepted the outcome and accepted their new masters as legitimate.  That has not happened.  On the contrary, the more they trumpet their claims to legitimacy by stomping on dissenters the more they undermine their legitimacy and the more dissent they engender.  They are riding a tiger while trying to beat it into submission. In November the great contest will determine whether Junta can stay on top of the tiger or the tiger can throw off the rider.

It is in the nature of totalitarian despots to employ violence to hold their captive populations in check.  It is not in the nature of tigers to submit.

There was a young lady of Niger
Who smiled as she rode on a tiger;
They returned from the ride
With the lady inside,
And the smile on the face of the tiger.
