Please welcome Mr. Peter Ramirez, our newest Filipino Ambassador representing Southern California.
Peter’s father was the late Philippine Ambassador to Germany, Pedro G. Ramirez, who also served as the first Consul General of the Philippines in Los Angeles. Peter was also appointed by the Secretary of Commerce to be a member of the Southern California District Export Council for four years.
Mr. Ramirez is currently the President of the Long Beach Bacolod Association (LBBA), a part of the non-profit corporation of Sister Cities of Long Beach, Inc. As president, he helped organize and bring to the USA, the famous MassKara Festival of Bacolod to Long Beach. The award winning MassKara dancers recently performed at Disneyland, being the first Filipino dance group to perform at Disneyland.
Peter is also the corporate secretary of the Sister Cities of Long Beach and currently sits on the Board of Directors of “Kalayaan, Inc.” , one of the most established organizations in the state that constantly promotes and celebrates Philippine Independence Day.
We’re so very excited & grateful that Peter has joined our team, he has been a priceless commodity. There are important plans & projects in place to help bring our Filipino Americans a little closer together with community outreach & education for California.
