Here comes inflation

Serious inflation is here, a little sooner than your Irascible Correspondent expected.  One of my clients is a restaurateur who tells me that his cost to buy food has recently jumped 15%.  I assured him it was going to get worse.  Here’s one reason why:

Meanwhile millions of board feet of lumber imported from Canada sit on railway sidings and lumber yards in Vermont, as reported back in March.

Oh, and  don’t forget the gas tax we voted for when we thought we were voting against, the next increase, which is tied to CPI, hits on July 1.
