Trudeau declares war on Canada

This week Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared war on Canada in response to the Freedom Convoys’ Honk Honk campaign.  He did so by employing an emergency provision in the law intended to mobilize the defense of Canada in the event of invasion or attack by an outside foe.  Not only is he threatening arrest and imprisonment of the  Honk Honk Truckers and their supporters, he intends to levy fines of up to $100,000.  Further, the bank accounts of anyone who financially supported the Convoys will have their assets seized on the grounds that they are terrorists.  The Canadian government has obtained this financial data from the hackers that breached the crowdfunding service which had collected over $10,000,000 for the truckers.  All of this, Trudeau and Deputy  Prime Minister Christia Freeland gleefully announced on national television.

The first result of this has been a run on the banks as millions of Canadians try to pull their money out of their banks before the government can snaffle it up.  Only a very few will succeed in doing so, of course, leaving millions of people with no way to pay their bills during the rest of the brutal Canadian Winter.

Now Canadians are some of the easiest going people on the planet so it is not likely that we will see them riot, kill and burn as if this were being done in Pakistan.  A great many Canadians will simply submit and comply.  But I don’t think that this is going to work out the way Trudeau and his government expect.  For one thing, all the truckers have to do is go home and stay home.  Things already looking pretty bleak in the Great White North will get a lot grimmer if they do that.  That would be the beginning of Canada’s 5th generational war with its own government, a war which the government cannot hope to win.

But here in the USA we have a trucker shortage.  Offer them all H2b visas and put ’em to work down here.

Unfortunately Canadians don’t seem to know anything about the crowd tactics developed by the leftwing agitators during the 1960’s and 1970’s, or they might have brought the government down last week.  I don’t think anybody was thinking of collapsing the Trudeau regime (though he certainly acted as if it were an immediate possibility).  Whaddaya wanna bet that a lot of people suddenly began thinking about it just this week?

The truckers should tell the government, “The sooner you comply the sooner we can all get back to normal. We’re all in this together.”
