Former Assistant United States Attorney

Craig H. Missakian, well-known trial lawyer, former state and federal Prosecutor, and owner of Damon’s Restaurant on Brand. Truly a “local boy, ” Mr. Missakian graduated from Glendale High School;  spent one year at Glendale Community College; graduated from USC with a Bachelor’s degree in Politcal Science; and earned his Law Degree from Georgetown University. In 1996, Mr. Missakian ran for Assembly in the 43rd District.
CRAIG H. MISSAKIAN was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Central District of California for over 7 years. He spent the bulk of his time in the public corruption unit, where he handled a wide range of prosecutions involving everything from labor union corruption and export cases to health care fraud and money laundering. He was assigned to the Cyber & Intellectual Property Crimes Section where he handled complex intrusion cases, piracy and counterfeiting, and FECA and DMCA prosecutions. Mr. Missakian charged an Internet blogger with leaking tracks from the  then upcoming Guns N’ Roses album, Chinese Democracy.  Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office he was a candidate for State Assembly, a Deputy District Attorney, and a lawyer in private practice.  He graduated from the University of Southern California and Georgetown Law School.

Craig Missakian is a well-known trial lawyer and former state and federal prosecutor. During his 15 years in law enforcement, he earned national and international attention for prosecutions that included terrorism and environmental crimes, software piracy, organized crime, and public corruption. His cases have been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, the Times of London, the Washington Post, the National Enquirer, and many other publications. He also taught at the U.S.C. Gould School of Law.

Mr. Missakian’s work as Assistant U.S. Attorney included the conviction of Martin Ludlow, then-head of the powerful Los Angeles County Federation of Labor and a former Los Angeles City Councilman, for embezzling funds from a local labor union.
He also led a multi-year health care fraud investigation that resulted in the conviction of one of the country’s most active health care fraud money launderers and the indictment of numerous individuals in Southern California for their role in a nationwide health care fraud scheme involving well over $100 million in fraudulent Medicare claims.
In 2007, Mr. Missakian co-tried the case of Chi Mak, a Chinese national who headed up a spy ring that included several members of his immediate family and that targeted some of the U.S. Navy’s most closely guarded technologies. Commentator Lou Dobbs described it as the most significant espionage prosecution in a generation and Washington Times writer Bill Gertz featured the case in his book Enemies.

He stood up for the nation’s war heroes when, in the first case of its” kind, he prosecuted a member of a Southern California water board under the Stolen Valor Act for falsely claiming to have won the Congressional Medal of Honor – a case that went all the way to the United States Supreme Court.  In 2014, he was asked to serve as one of the lead lawyers on the House Select Committee on Benghazi where he helped direct the investigation into the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya that took the lives of four Americans. After working in Washington, D.C. on the Benghazi investigation for 2 ½ years he returned to his native Southern California where he now practices law.

His Washington DC  legal experience positioned Mr. Missakian to provide expert commentary on the anticipated smoking guns in the Mueller Report.  Adam Schiff and the Left were salivating, certain that report would provide the mountain of evidence on Russia Collusion they needed for the prosecution and incarceration of President Trump.  How did that turn out for the Left?

Given Mr. Missakian’s  accomplished and distinguished life devoted to public service, he  was asked how he would like to be remembered, “When my life is said and done, I would like to be remembered as a guy that when he saw a problem, stopped to help fix it.”
Get all of the inside stories, and hear from a legal expert on the Mueller Report and how it blew up in the Left’s faces from
Craig H. Missakian, June 22nd, when you attend GBRA’s meeting.
